Then and Now

You know how you see the professional pictures of the man holding the baby in the palm of his hand?  Well, these aren't those pictures. Calvin was not often a photogenic baby in his first few weeks. He looked like a wrinkly old man.  Now that he's plumped out a bit, the wrinkles are gone and he's much more squishy and round!

4 month stats

Calvin had his 4 month check up today (also Poppy's birthday) and he is 16 lbs, 25.5 inches long.  He is in the 70th percentile for both weight and height. His weight gain has petered off a bit -- thankfully!  We were doing some projections and if he continued to gain 3 lbs a month as he had been before, we would be looking at a 38 lb 1 year old!  The pediatrician, Dr. Simon, gave us the green light to start solids and some information.  I'm going to hold off little while longer on the solids as the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends 6 months of exclusive breast feeding.  Besides, it's been going well so far.  Calvin has been grabbing my glass of water though so he is definitely becoming more interested in food!
